The present invention relates to an eye drop composition for treating xerophthalmia, comprising a component which maintains stability without forming precipitates during storage and can be safely used as an eye drop by solubilizing an insoluble compound, rebamipide, and to a preparation method of the same. The eye drop composition for treating xerophthalmia comprises: a base for solubilizing rebamipide； a stabilizing agent for maintaining a stabilized state when supersaturated； a particular type of buffer for maintaining a biocompatible range of pH 7 to 8； and an osmotic pressure regulator. The preparation method comprises the steps of: applying a base to rebamipide or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof and a stabilizing agent, and dissolving the same in water to obtain an aqueous solution eye drop having a pH of 10-11； applying, to the eye drop, a buffer and at least one osmotic pressure regulator selected from non-ionic osmotic pressure regulators, and dissolving the same to adjust the pH to 7-8 by using an acid； and filtering the same by using a syringe filter to prepare a sterile eye drop composition. The prepared eye drop is in the state of an aqueous solution and comprises a therapeutic agent for xerophthalmia that is stable at a refrigeration temperature, a freezing temperature, and room temperature, and is stable even when stored alternating between room temperature and a freezing temperature, and between room temperature and a refrigeration temperature.본 발명은 난용성 화합물인 레바미피드를 가용화 하여 보관 중에 침전발생 없이 안정함을 유지하고 점안제로 사용함에 있어 안전한 성분을 함유하는 것을 특징으로 하는 안구건조증 치료용 점안제 조성물 및 그 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 안구건조증 치료용 점안제 조성물은 레바미피드를 가용화하기 위한 염기를 포함하며, 과포화 안정화 상태를 유지하기 위한 안정화제, 생체 적합한 pH 7 내지 pH 8로 유지하기 위한 특정 종류의 완충제 및 삼투압 조절제를 함유하는 것을 특징으로 한다. 제조방법은 레바미피드 또는 이의 약학적으로 허용 가능한 염과 안정화제에 염기를 가하여 물에 용해하여 pH 10 내지 pH 11의 수용액 점안액을 얻고,상기 점안액에 완충제와 비이온성 삼투압 조절제 가운데 선택된 적어도 하나의 삼투압 조절제를 가하여 녹이고, 산으로 pH 7 내지 pH 8로 조정한 후시린지 필터로 여과하여 무균성으로 제조하는 단계를 포함한다.제조된 점안제는 수용액 상태이며 냉동, 냉장,
