PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoking agent composition by which the smoking is easily started by directly heating a part of a preparation without requiring any indirect heating mechanism, and the self combustion is stably continued thereafter to enable the chemicals to be vaporized efficiently into air, and to provide a smoking method.
SOLUTION: The smoking agent composition contains (A) at least one of chemicals for controlling pest insects, and (B) at least one of a heat-generating base agent. The heat-generating base agent (B) contains (b1) at least one of compounds selected from the group consisting of a guanidine derivative and nitrates, and a burning agent. The contents of the chemicals (A) for controlling the pest insects, and the compound (b1) are 0.1-35 mass% and 30-80 mass% respectively, and the content of the burning agent is 2-10 mass% in the smoking agent composition. The smoking method includes directly heating the smoking agent composition.
