A technique for measuring and collecting human tremor data includes measuring motions of a handheld tool manipulated by a user while performing a task with the handheld tool. The motions are measured using an inertial measurement unit ("IMU") disposed within a handle of the handheld tool. Motion data of the motions is recorded to a motion log stored within a memory unit of the handheld tool. The motion data contains information for determining a severity of tremors that occurred while the user performed the task with the handheld tool. The motion log is communicated to a remote server for analysis.La présente invention concerne une technique de mesure et de collecte de données de tremblements chez l'homme consistant à mesurer les mouvements d'un outil portatif manipulé par un utilisateur tout en effectuant une tâche avec l'outil portatif. Les mouvements sont mesurés à l'aide d'une unité de mesure inertielle (« IMU ») disposée à l'intérieur d'une poignée de l'outil portatif. Les données de mouvement desdits mouvements sont enregistrées dans un journal des mouvements mémorisé dans une unité de mémoire de l'outil portatif. Les données de mouvement contiennent des informations permettant de déterminer la gravité des tremblements qui se sont produits pendant que l'utilisateur effectue la tâche avec l'outil portatif. Le journal des mouvements est communiqué à un serveur à distance pour analyse.
