PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material that is suitable for use for the surface sheet of a sanitary article, has performance in which after use, the material is gradually decomposed in a natural environment and finally disappears, has no air pollution when incinerated after use, has a little influence on the environment, and exhibits a soft hand and excellent touch.
SOLUTION: The polymer alloy fiber includes: a polylactic acid as a first component and as a second component, a polyester having biodegradability, which is either an aliphatic polyester containing a &ge3C straight-chain hydrocarbon group or an aromatic-aliphatic copolyester obtained by copolymerizing an aromatic polyester with an aliphatic polyester containing a &ge3C straight-chain hydrocarbon group, and is constituted of the first component and the second component.
