PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic salt sprinkling device for rice balls, capable of securely sprinkling an appropriate amount of salt on either side of a rice ball.SOLUTION: A salt sprinkling mechanism 31 includes: an upper mold 4 disposed below a salt container 1 a lower mold 8 in contact with the upper mold 4 a rotary shaft 2 to be rotationally driven within the salt container 1 a ring-shaped salt reservoir 9 formed of the upper mold 4 and the lower mold 8 and a salt feeding gear 6 connected to the rotary shaft 2. The salt feeding gear 6 includes a guide part 18 within a housing part 14, and a gear part 19 which forms a salt storage part 21 for storing a prescribed amount of salt 34 among teeth 20.
