Described, in certain embodiments, aremethods and apparatuses for delivering anchoring devicessuch as T-anchors into body passage walls. Some inventivemethods involve inserting one or more anchoring devicesinto a wall of an organ in a direction from a luminalsurface to an abluminal surface of the wall. In some instances,inserting a device in this manner, while providingat least part of the device implanted between the luminalsurface and the abluminal surface of the wall, is conductedwithout the device exiting the wall's abluminal surface. Inthese and other inventive methods, delivering an anchoringdevice into a body passage wall may involve manipulatingthe wall in some manner before, during and/or afterplacing the device in the wall. Various forms of manipulationare described in this regard.
