The present disclosure is generally directed to a drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament and to an insert for such a device. The insert comprises a cup-shaped body with a distal end and a proximal end. The body has a sidewall and a tube which extends centrally through the cup-shaped body in a longitudinal direction, thereby defining an annular space between the sidewall and the tube. The annular space is open in the proximal direction for receiving a compression spring. The tube comprises a thread provided at an inner surface of the tube.
