The present invention provides a wheelchair with direction switching function, which is to configure a direction switching mechanism between two rear wheels of a wheelchair body. The direction switching mechanism may control the two rear wheels for synchronously switching direction. The direction switching mechanism comprises two driving arms, two ratchet units, and two cams, in which the ratchet unit include a ratchet and two pawls and the cam is provided with two symmetrical flanges. The two ratchets respectively penetrate through shafts of the two rear wheels. The two driving arms are respectively located above the two ratchets and connected with the two cams. The two driving arms are interconnected. The two flanges of each cam evenly abut the two pawls. A rider may pull one of the driving arms in the counterclockwise or clockwise direction, such that he two driving arms may simultaneously drive the two cams to rotate toward the pulling direction. The flange opposite to the pulling direction may leave the pawl abutted thereby, so that a free end of the pawl may lower to contact with the ratchet and the ratchet may only rotate toward a specific direction.
