PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core particle for coating containing a drug having an unpleasant taste such as bitterness at a high concentration and having a size, high particle strength, etc., suitable for the coating.SOLUTION: The particle is characterized as follows. The particle comprises &ge35 mass% of the drug having the unpleasant taste, 1-10 mass% of silicon dioxide, 5-30 mass% of a hygroscopic polymer, 10-50 mass% of a saccharides vehicle and 5-20 mass% of a binder. The average particle diameter is 100-400 &mum and the geometric standard deviation of the particle distribution is &le2.0.
