A person-support apparatus (1) having a rectangular support surface (2) and a siderail support member (3, 5) at at least one end of the support surface (2). The siderail support member (3, 5) extends from the support surface (2) to above a support surface (2) and has a first surface adjacent to and alongside the support surface (2). There is a second surface of the siderail support member (3, 5) substantially transverse to the first surface and facing away from the support surface (2) having receiving means (12) for receiving and supporting an end of a siderail assembly (8).
