An environment cleaning method and an environment cleaner are provided with which it is possible to more effectively utilize an aqueous hypochlorous acid solution for killing or inactivating viruses or bacteria. The environment cleaner is equipped with a first atomization part (2A) that produces, through atomization, first fine particles constituted of an acidic aqueous hypochlorous acid solution (L1) and a second atomization part (2B) that produces, through atomization, second fine particles (2B) constituted of an alkaline aqueous hypochlorous acid solution (L2). The fine particles formed by atomizing the two kinds of aqueous hypochlorous acid solutions are supplied in combination to a space to be treated. As a result, the alkaline second fine particles more preferentially react with organic substances present in the space than the acidic first fine particles to decompose and diminish the organic substances. Consequently, the acidic first fine particles are inhibited from being consumed through reaction with the organic substances present in the space, and can more effectively produce the effect of killing or inactivating bacteria or viruses.
