PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable wearing article preventing decline in absorption in an absorber and enabling rapid migration of bodily fluid to the absorber.SOLUTION: A diaper 1 has a liquid-permeable inner surface sheet 20, a liquid-impermeable outer surface sheet 30, a liquid-absorptive absorber 40 positioned between the inner and outer surface sheets 20 and 30, and a leak prevention sheet 50 positioned between the absorber 40 and the outer surface sheet 30. A pair of entrapping sheets 60 spaced apart in the lateral direction X are formed on a skin-facing surface of the inner surface sheet 20. The absorber 40 has a liquid-absorptive core material 41 and a cover sheet 42, such as tissue paper, for covering the core material 41. The absorber 40 is provided with a plurality of recesses 45 from a bottom surface 44 to an absorption surface 43. The absorption surface 43 is not provided with any recesses 45 and is substantially level. First through fourth compression recesses 71-74 and a plurality of ridge parts 26 and groove parts 27 are formed on a surface 25 of the inner surface sheet 20.
