Metabolic bone disease is osteoporosis, Paget's disease, periodontal disease, bone metastatic cancer, or rheumatoid arthritis.본 발명은 폰시린(Poncirin)를 유효성분으로 함유하는 식품첨가제에 관한 것으로, 골개형(bone remodeling)에 있어서 골생성(bone formation)에 대한 골흡수(bone resorption)의 증가로 인한 불균형에 따라 초래되는 골질환의 주된 원인이 되는 파골세포 활성 증가를 효과적으로 억제할 수 있어서 노인들의 골질환이나 여성들의 폐경기로 인해 발생하는 골 질환 개선에 도움을 줄 수 있는 식품첨가제에 관한 것이다. 더욱 상세하게는 파골세포의 분화 억제와 파골세포의 TRAP(tartarate resistance Acid Phosphatase)의 발현억제, Cathepsin K 발현 억제, MMP-9 발현억제, NFATc1 발현 억제를 포함한 파골세포 활성 억제 효과를 통해 파골세포 활성 증가로 나타나는 골질환 개선 식품첨가제에 관한 것이다.
