PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broad light control dynamic range and high light control resolution without generating a light reception amount fluctuation caused by pulse illumination light in each line of an imaging element.SOLUTION: An imaging device includes: a light source emitting light by pulse drive a light source control part driving the light source by pulse modulation to control emission light intensity and an imaging part having an imaging element wherein a plurality of pixels are horizontally and vertically arranged, and driving the imaging element by a rolling shutter method to perform imaging. The light source control part pulse-drives the light source in timing synchronized with a timing pulse signal having a period of 1/p (p is an integer &ge1) of an exposure start timing interval when driving the imaging element by the rolling shutter method.
