PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of further relaxing an affection which is applied to a skin of an infant by an engagement hook of a fastening tape, and preventing the fastening tape from being expanded naturally without intention.SOLUTION: An absorbent article comprises a front girth area, a rear girth area, and a fastening tape 90 for fastening the front girth area and the rear girth area. The fastening tape 90 comprises an engagement sheet capable of engaging to at least one of the front girth area and the rear girth area. The fastening tape 90 is folded in an expandable state. In a state in which the fastening tape 90 is folded, a first area 92a of the engagement sheet faces a second area 92b of the engagement sheet.
