A temporary tattoo of an eye (a) and eyebrow (h), having an aperture (g) above the eye part as a stencil for tracing a socket line. In a preferred embodiment the tattoo has perforations (i) to allow the eyebrow to be separated from the surrounding material, and the exposed section can be used as a stencil. The image of the eye is made of a transferable material on a backing paper which can be released using an agent such as water. The front of the tattoo transfer is covered by a protective film which in use is peeled off and discarded. The temporary tattoo is intended for training purposes, used as a template for practising applying eye makeup onto an area of skin other than an eyelid.
