Disclosed is a method for forming a cephalo image which can form a two dimensional medical image where an area unnecessary for diagnosis is removed. The method comprises: a step of preparing a plurality of cross section image data which are perpendicular to a cephalo view direction selected and divided from three dimensional image data and are associated with a plurality of image indices a step of inspecting whether a specific image pattern exists for the cross section image data and a step of reducing an image effect of the specific image pattern in the corresponding cross section image data or storing an image index associated with the corresponding cross section image data if the specific image patterns is determined to exist in the corresponding cross section image data.
