PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice ball-packing material, enabling a large opening to be easily obtained at low cost and a rice ball package packed with the packing material.SOLUTION: The rice ball-packing material enabling the rice ball to be covered with a sheet-like food in opening of the rice ball package packed with the packing material, by tearing a portion to be torn formed in an outer film for parting the rice ball-packing material into right and left portions so as to be removed by pulling. The portion to be torn is a belt-like material having a uniform width, to which a label adheres from the front side of the outer film. A portion of the adhering surface of the label includes a part coated with an adhesive for opening. The part coated with an adhesive for opening has a shape with the width in crosswise direction gradually increasing toward the tearing direction, such that the tearing-initiation side is located inside the width of the tearing part and the tearing-completion side is located outside the width of the tearing part.
