PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preparing wood, and a composition.SOLUTION: The method for treating wood comprises a step in which the wood comes in contact with a mixture of liquid or water-soluble organic ammonium carbonate with an active component for inducing an invertebrate to evade. The organic ammonium carbonate is shown by formula (1): [NR1R2R3R4]+n[R5(COO)n]-n (wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and n are in the description). The active component for preventing wood from going rotten contains a chelating agent for inducing the invertebrate to evade.
