PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester protecting a lifting and lowering cylinder for adjusting holding positions for crops of an uprooting and transporting device from impurities such as muddy soil or leaf wastes dropping from the crops during transporting, and preventing the crops during the transporting from contacting the lifting and lowering cylinder to cause damage thereto.SOLUTION: The root vegetable harvester includes the uprooting and transporting device 24 installed for holding the crops, uprooting the crops from a field, and then transporting the crops to the upper side on the rear side the lifting and lowering member 23 installed for changing the positions for holding the crops of the uprooting and transporting device 24 a position arranging device 54 installed for regulating the lifting of root parts of the crops during the transporting while passing leaves and stems of the crops during the transporting with the uprooting and transporting device 24, and arranging the height and a stem and leaf cutter 61 installed for cutting the leaves and stems of the crops subjected to the position arranging with the position arranging device 54.
