A method of generating an ultrasound image of a voluminous anatomical region is provided. First, the low resolution image data is enhanced by adapting the 3D anatomical model to the image data to generate a larger amount of a second amount of ultrasound image data for the anatomical region. Then, the enhanced volume information is displayed.
