PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation generating apparatus which shields unnecessary radiation rays, cools a target, and reduces the weight with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A radiation generating apparatus includes: a package 1 having a first window 2 which transmits a radiation ray； a radiation tube 10 housed in the package 1 and having a second window 15, which transmits the radiation ray, at a position facing the first window 2； and a radiation shield member 16 which is thermally connected with the second window 15, has a radiation passing hole 21 communicating with the second window 15, and protrudes from the second window 15 to the first window 2 side.
