PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shield a driving force supply part disposed in a surgical instrument support part from a surgical instrument part without bringing the driving force supply part into contact with a surgical instrument part by a shielding member in an operation support device, to easily assemble the operation support device, and to easily attach/detach the surgical instrument part.SOLUTION: The operation support device 100 includes a surgical instrument unit 1 and the surgical instrument support part 101. The operation support device 100 further includes a sterilizable intermediate member 2 rotatably connected to the surgical instrument support part 101 for detachably holding the surgical instrument unit 1 a sterilizable drape assembly 8 having holes 7C and 7D and a surgical instrument driving part 3 for feeding a driving force to the surgical instrument unit 1 via the intermediate member 2. An unclean area Au and a clean area Ac are formed with an assembly constituted by the drape assembly 8 and the intermediate member 2 as a boundary. The intermediate member 2 is detachably connected to the surgical instrument support part 101 on the side of the unclean area Au, and the surgical instrument unit 1 is detachably held on the side of the clean area Ac.
