The invention relates to a ready meal packaging comprising a base part substantially in the form of a circular tray, the surrounding side wall of which diverges outwards from a substantially planar bottom to the upper edge of the side wall. On the upper rim of the side wall the side wall merges into a substantially planar outwardly projecting rim flange parallel to the bottom. The ready meal packaging further comprises a preferably pre-cooked ready meal introduced into the base part and having at least two deep-frozen components of different nutritional composition, and a sealing film or the like sealed onto the rim flange after introduction of the ready meal. The invention is characterised in that the food components substantially have the shape of a pie slice-like circle segment and are tailored in shape and size to one another and to the interior shape of the base part in such a way that, after the preforming and deep freezing during placing in the base part, said components cover the bottom of the base part substantially completely and without gaps, the edges of the food components, which extend like secants of a circle, lying adjacent to one another and perpendicular to the bottom of the base part, wherein the food components do not project over the interior of the tray in the direction of the upper rim of the side wall, but are preferably aligned with the upper edge of the side wall.
