PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a photocatalytic reactor capable of achieving gas modification, deodorization, disinfection or the like for a household refrigerator, a car, a shoe cupboard or the like, using a visible-light responsive type photocatalyst.SOLUTION: A photocatalytic reactor is equipped with a blowing or inhaling fan 4 at an end of a cylindrical reaction tube 1 having an introduction port 2 and an exhaust port 3. a) A reflector plate 5 is installed at the center of the reaction tube 1 and air holes 6 are perforated through the reflector plate to induce a turbulent flow. b) Reaction beds 7 are arranged on both the introduction port side and the exhaust port side of the reflector plate, sandwiching the air holes, the reaction beds being made of a material with voids carrying a visible-light responsive type photocatalyst. c) Visible-light lamps 8 are installed to irradiate the reaction beds with visible light. d) A mirror surface is attached on the inner surface of the reaction tube and the surface of the reflector plate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
