PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system capable of obtaining an image having a high color reproducibility even if a white balance is adjusted under a condition where blockage of external light is insufficient.SOLUTION: An endoscope system includes a video processor. The video processor includes a light source controller to control emission and blockage of illumination light from a light source when external light is emitted to an object when adjusting a white balance, an intensity acquisition part to obtain intensities of image signals by a color component, an intensity calculation part to obtain a difference by the color component between the intensities obtained by the intensity acquisition part during the emission and the blockage of the illumination light, a brightness adjuster capable of adjusting brightnesses of an image based on the image signals for the emission and the blockage of the illumination light, and a controller to control the brightness adjuster and the intensity calculation part to allow for calculation of a white balance adjustment value corresponding to the image signals on the basis only of the illumination light from the light source.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2016,JPO&INPIT【課題】外光の遮断が不十分な環境下においてホワイトバランス調整を行った場合でも、色再現性の高い画像を得る。【解決手段】 内視鏡システムは、ビデオプロセッサを具備し、前記ビデオプロセッサは、ホワイトバランス調整作業時に被検体に外光が照射される環境において、光源装置からの照明光の出射と遮断とを制御する光源制御部と、画像信号の色成分毎の輝度値を求める輝度値取得部と、前記照明光の出射時において前記輝度値取得部が求めた輝度値と、前記照明光の遮断時において前記輝度値取得部が求めた輝度値との差分を色成分毎に求める輝度値演算部と、前記照明光の出射時と遮断時とで、前記画像信号に基づく画像の明るさを調整可能な明るさ調整部と、前記明るさ調整部及び輝度値演算部を制御して、前記光源装置の照明光のみに基づく画像信号に対応する前記ホワイトバランス調整値を算出可能にする制御部とを具備する。【選択図】図1
