PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for identifying a femoral head center, which correctly identifies the position of a femoral head center during a surgery, with an inexpensive configuration.SOLUTION: An apparatus 10 for identifying a femoral head center, during a total knee replacement surgery, identifies the position of a center P of a femoral head of a patient A within a plane parallel to a frontal plane. The apparatus 10 comprises a marking plate 16 placed to cover, in a direction perpendicular to the frontal plane, a site where the femoral head center P of the body of the patient A is located a pivotal arm 22 having a pivotal shaft 76 arranged to extend in a direction perpendicular to the frontal plane and a marker 24, attached to the pivotal arm 22, for depicting a circular arc on the marking plate according to rotation of the pivotal arm 22.
