A setting-screen display unit (153a) makes a display unit display information regarding a base pattern for setting an injection protocol (a "slip injection protocol") whereby: (i) from time t0 to time t1, the rate at which a contrast agent is injected decreases monotonically from an initial rate (Vc0) to rate Vc1 and the rate at which a diluent is injected increases monotonically from an initial rate (Vp0) to rate Vp1, with rates Vc1 and Vp1 being essentially equal and (ii) after time t1, the rate at which the diluent is injected is set to Vp2, Vp2 being higher than Vp1. An injection-protocol creation unit (153b) is configured so as to: accept, from an operator, input indicating a change to the abovementioned base pattern and/or input to the effect that injection should be performed according to the base pattern and create an injection protocol reflecting said input.
