An object of the present invention is to provide a block copolymer excellent in adhesion to a substrate and capable of imparting excellent antithrombogenicity to the surface of a substrate, and a medical device using the block copolymer . The block copolymer according to the present invention has an A block which can contain an intermediate water and a B block which is more hydrophobic than the A block.
