Disclosed are an aqueous manicure composition and a method of preparing the same. The disclosed aqueous manicure composition contains purified water, a urethane resin, and dimethoxydiglycol which is a solvent for dissolving the urethane resin in the distilled water. The disclosed method of preparing the aqueous manicure composition comprises: a mixing step of mixing distilled water, a urethane resin, dimethoxydiglycol, and acetone to prepare an intermediate mixture； an urethane dissolving step of heating the intermediate mixture prepared from the mixing step at an atmosphere of 90-100°C to dissolve the urethane resin, thereby preparing an intermediate melted material； and an evaporation step of keeping the intermediate melted material prepared from the urethane dissolving step at an atmosphere of 60-80°C for 46-50 hours, thereby completely evaporating the acetone from the intermediate melted material, to prepare an aqueous manicure composition. The aqueous manicure composition contains the dimethoxydiglycol to allow the urethane resin to be dissolved in the distilled water and has the acetone used during the preparation process, which is toxic, completely evaporated.
