In an exemplary method for obtaining a contour image of a tooth, which can be executed at least in part by a computer, movement of an intra-oral camera can be detected by acquiring a first video image frame that includes the tooth and processing the first video image frame to detect one or more edges of the tooth in the first video image frame and acquiring a second video image frame that includes the tooth and processing the second video image frame to detect the one or more edges of the tooth in the second video image frame. The method can compare corresponding edge locations between the first and second processed video image frames and projects a fringe pattern illumination onto the tooth from the camera, capturing and storing one or more still images of the fringe pattern according to the detected camera movement.Dans le cadre d'un procédé, donné à titre d'exemple, permettant d'obtenir l'image du contour d'une dent, procédé qui peut être, au moins pour partie, mis en œuvre par un ordinateur, le mouvement d'un appareil de prise de vue intrabuccal peut être détecté en acquérant une première image vidéo comprenant la dent et en traitant ladite première image vidéo afin d'y détecter un ou plusieurs bords de la dent, puis en acquérant une seconde image vidéo comprenant la dent et en la traitant pour y détecter un ou plusieurs bords de la dent. Ledit procédé permet de comparer l'emplacement des bords correspondants sur les première et seconde images vidéos traitées et de projeter un réseau de franges sur la dent depuis l'appareil de prise de vue, puis de capturer et de stocker une ou plusieurs images fixes du réseau de franges conformément au mouvement détecté pour l'appareil de prise de vue.
