The invention relates to the field of measurements for diagnostic purposes, in particular for measuring an electrocutaneous reaction. The measuring method is carried out with the aid of electrodes adjoining the skin. One electrode is arranged on the outer side of a wrist, and another electrode is arranged on the inner side of the wrist, electrical signals from both electrodes are recorded for a time and an electrocutaneous reaction of a person is determined on the basis of the signals received. A device for measuring an electrocutaneous reaction of a person comprises a housing with a strap intended for attaching the housing on a wrist, two electrodes for measuring an electrocutaneous reaction and a signal-processing unit. One electrode is mounted on the housing, on a side adjoining the external side of the wrist, and the other electrode is mounted on the strap, in an area adjoining the inner side of the wrist, wherein the two electrodes are connected to the signal-processing unit.
