Disclosed are a sliding sleeve-type needle protection device and a safety syringe using same. The needle protection device comprises a collar (1) and a sliding sleeve (2). The collar (1) can be positioned around the needle seat (8) in a fixed manner. The sliding sleeve (2) is in a cylindrical shape, and has an upper end portion (22) and a lower end portion (23). The sliding sleeve (2) can be positioned around the collar (1) and slide between a retracted position and an extended position along an out surface of a boss (12), wherein the outer surface of the collar (1) and the inner surface of the lower end portion (23) of the sliding sleeve (2) are respectively formed with catching mechanisms cooperating with each other. When the sliding sleeve (2) is at the extended position, it can be locked on the collar (1) in an inseparable manner.
