To provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus which prevents a subject from directly touching the inner wall of a bore.
SOLUTION: A plurality of airbags 25 are arranged ON the wall surface 12b of the inner wall 12 of the bore. An air supply tube 81 and an air exhaust tube 82 are attached respectively to an air supply port and an air exhaust port of each airbag 25. The airbag 25 inflates when air is supplied from an air supply and exhaust device 8, and the airbag 25 deflates when the air within the airbag 25 is exhausted by the air supply and exhaust device 8. The airbags 25 are inflated after a subject 9 is carried into the bore 12a. By doing so and the subject 9 is prevented from touching the wall surface 12b of the inner wall 12 of the bore during imaging. After imaging is finished and the airbags 25 are deflated and the subject 9 is carried out.
