A composition having effective preservation activity against P. aeruginosa, C. albicans and A. niger comprising caprylyl glycol with a preservative selected from the group consisting of: (1) 4-chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol and 2-phenoxyethanol, in where the weight ratio of 2-phenoxyethanol to 4-chloro-3,5-dimethylphenol is 2.5: 1 to 6: 1 and (2) chlorphenesin and 2-phenoxyethanol, where the weight ratio of 2-phenoxyethanol Chlorphenesin is 2.5: 1 to 6: 1, and wherein the capryl glycol component constitutes 10% to 30% by weight, based on the sum of caprylic glycol plus the preservative of the composition.Una composición que tiene actividad eficaz de conservación contra P. aeruginosa, C. albicans y A. niger que comprende caprililglicol con un conservante seleccionado del grupo consistente en: (1) 4-cloro-3,5-dimetilfenol y 2-fenoxietanol, en donde la relación en peso de 2-fenoxietanol a 4-cloro-3,5-dimetilfenol es de 2,5:1 a 6:1 y (2) clorfenesina y 2-fenoxietanol, en donde la relación en peso de 2-fenoxietanol a clorfenesina es de 2,5:1 a 6:1, y en donde el componente de caprililglicol constituye de 10% a 30% en peso, basado en la suma de caprililglicol más el conservante de la composición.
