PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently wash and disinfect an endoscope in liquid contact inside a washing tub while surely preventing the endoscope within the washing tub from contacting with a lid by allowing a user to be readily aware of the contact of the endoscope with the lid.SOLUTION: The endoscope washing and disinfecting apparatus 1 includes an apparatus body 2, and a lid 4 connected to an upper portion thereof in an openable and closable manner, and a tank-type washing tub 5 is disposed on an apparatus body upper surface 2a, the tub being capable of housing the endoscope 90 on a bottom surface 5a thereof for washing and disinfection, and being opened and closed by opening and closing the lid 4. The apparatus includes, as a contact sensor 111, a contact pressure detection unit which detects a contact pressure between the washing tub 5 and the lid 4, and a control circuit 63 determines a contact of the endoscope 90 disposed in the washing tub 5 with the lid 4 based on the contact pressure detected by the contact sensor 111.
