A method of producing a hyperpolarized material comprising: a) providing a first material selected from the group consisting of (i) a material that is a liquid at standard conditions, (ii) a material that is a non noble gas at standard conditions, and combinations thereof b) increasing the nuclear hyperpolarization of the first material until the first material becomes hyperpolarized and c) transferring the nuclear hyperpolarization from the first material to a second material.
