- 摘要:
- Risingresistance, regulatory pressure, and ecological costs of synthetic pesticideshave accelerated interest in essential oil (EO) based biopesticides. Yettranslation is constrained by EO volatility, low water miscibility,photo-oxidation, and rapid dissipation. This review consolidates advances in EOchemistry and nanoformulation to articulate newer drug design thereby linkingmolecular composition to delivery performance and agronomics. We summarizerepresentative bioactives (e.g., thymol, carvacrol, eugenol, cinnamaldehyde, citral, menthol, and 1,8-cineole) and emphasize mechanistic pathways underlyinginsecticidal and antimicrobial action, including membrane perturbation, neuromodulation (acetylcholinesterase and octopaminergic signaling),respiratory/metabolic disruption, and repellency etc. We then compared variousnanoencapsulation platforms, nanoemulsions, biopolymer and polymericnanocapsules, lipid carriers (solid lipid nanoparticles and nanostructuredlipid carriers), cyclodextrin complexes, and emerging metal–organic framework(MOF) systems as a common framework. By mapping formulation choices, performance trade-offs and reporting gaps are identified that hindercross-study comparability. Further, commercial EO product blends includingthyme–oregano, clove–cinnamon, citral-rich lemongrass formulations arediscussed along with practical barriers to adoption, including shelf-lifequalification, scalable manufacturing. Particular attention is given toenvironmental fate, residue dynamics, and compatibility with integrated pestmanagement. Finally, we outline research priorities for standardizedcharacterization, realistic exposure testing and field-validated efficacy toaccelerate EO-based nanopesticides in sustainable pest management.
