PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fumigating noxious insect-parasitizing sweet persimmon fruits with carbon dioxide, by which the deterioration in the commercial value of the fruits can be prevented and noxious insects can surely be exterminated at a low cost and to provide an apparatus for fumigating sweet persimmon fruits with carbon dioxide.SOLUTION: A method for fumigating sweet persimmon fruits with carbon dioxide, comprising receiving noxious insect-parasitizing sweet persimmon fruits in a fumigation chamber and then fumigating the fruits with carbon dioxide to exterminate the noxious insects, is characterized by controlling the inner temperature of the fumigation chamber at -4 to 4°C with a temperature control device.
