The invention relates to a genetically modified Vibrio cholerae strain comprising i) a mutation suppressing the phage replication activity of Uvr D, ii) a mutation preventing the expression of functional HupA and HupB, and/or iii) a mutation preventing the expression of functional hupB, wherein when the strain comprises a mutation preventing the expression of functional HupB, the V. cholera strain preferably also expresses an RstR polypeptide and further comprises a distinct mutation consisting of an attRS deletion, a knockout mutation in rstA and/or a knockout mutation in rstB. Compositions comprising such a strain are also herein described as well as their uses typically for the prevention or treatment of a subject against a Vibrio cholerae infection.L'invention concerne une souche de Vibrio cholerae génétiquement modifiée comprenant i) une mutation supprimant l'activité de réplication de phages de Uvr D, ii) une mutation empêchant l'expression d'une HupA et d'une HupB fonctionnelles et/ou iii) une mutation empêchant l'expression d'une HupB fonctionnelle, où, si la souche comprend une mutation empêchant l'expression d'une HupB fonctionnelle, la souche V. cholera exprime aussi de préférence un polypeptide RstR et comprend en outre une mutation distincte consistant en une délétion de attRS, une mutation inactivante (knockout) au sein de rstA et/ou une mutation inactivante au sein de rstB.
