This invention relates to novel 4-dimethylaminobutyric acid derivatives of the formula wherein A1, A2, R1, m and n are as defined in the description and in the claims, as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. These compounds inhibit carnitine palmitoyl transferase (CPT) activity, in particular CPT2 activity, and can be used as medicaments in methods for the treatment of diseases modulated by CPT2 inhibitors.本發明係關於新穎之下式之4-二甲基胺基丁酸衍生物：；(其中A1、A2、R1、m及n係如本說明書及申請專利範圍中所定義)，以及其醫藥學上可接受之鹽。此等化合物抑制肉鹼棕櫚醯轉移酶(carnitine palmitoyl transferase，CPT)活性、尤其CPT2活性，可用作藥劑。
