PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a region that is a quantification evaluation object to be determined appropriately in a cartilage quantification device, method, and program that calculate a quantitative value of a cartilage in a joint to quantify the cartilage using a three-dimensional image.SOLUTION: A region extraction unit 22 extracts a bone region 50 and a cartilage region 51 from a three-dimensional image G0. A projection direction determination unit 23 determines a projection direction of the cartilage region 51, and a projection image generation unit 24 projects the bone region 50 and the cartilage region 51 in the determined projection direction to generate a projection image G1.
