The device has an air supply unit provided within the device and arranged along a flow path of intake air between an external air connection (2) and a supply air connection (5) of a closed ventilation box (1). An exhaust air unit is arranged along another flow path of intake air between two exhaust air connections (7, 10) of the ventilation box. Circulating air flaps (14, 15) are provided within the device and connect the air supply unit and an exhaust air unit in an open position, and an ozonization module (16) is provided in the air supply unit or exhaust air unit. The ozonization module is comprised of a UV-C radiation source and a vacuum UV (VUV) radiation source. An independent claim is also included for a method for cleaning and disinfection of a ventilation device.
