A series of elastic break brakes are providedthroughout a travel path of elastics in a machineoperation. Elastic strands thread through each individualbrake mechanism, and if an elastic strand breaksdownstream, a natural snap back of the elastic, whichordinarily travels through the system under tension,drives an immediately upstream cam mechanism back, andholds the elastic thread in place at the elastic breakbrake immediately upstream of the break as to minimizerethreading required downstream of the elastic breakbrake.
