Disclosed is a process for making a fermented pollen-based composition comprising the soaking of dry pollen grains in coconut water; treating the soaked pollen with glycerol and honeydew; adding beeswax; and incubating at 37 °C for 72 hours to give the desired composition. The process can also include the additional step of adding an enzyme component selected from the group consisting of pineapple powder, tamarillo powder, kawa kawa powder, kiwifruit powder, honey, or additional honeydew, and the additional step of adding propolis or pine bark powder to stop fermentation. The fermented pollen-based compositions are useful for treating skin conditions, particularly in the form of a topical skin cream composition.
