A method of packaging a ready to use intermittent urinary catheter by (i)placinglubricant within a pocket formed in a base film proximate a first end of thepocket, (ii) placing acatheter within the pocket with the insertion end of the catheter proximatethe first end of thepocket, (iii) partially sealing the catheter within the pocket between thebase film and a coverfilm, (iv) pulling a vacuum within the pocket to effect controlledcircumferential flow oflubricant around the insertion end portion of the catheter, and then (v) fullysealing the pocket.
