A traumatic brain injury (TBI) detection apparatus and a method for detecting the TBI using the same are disclosed. The traumatic brain injury detection apparatus, according to an embodiment of the present invention, is a device for detecting the TBI which is wearable on a body of a user, and comprises: an impact sensing part for sensing the magnitude of external impact applied to the user a state analysis part for analyzing the magnitude of the external impact and analyzes a duration time of the external impact to classify the state of the user into a stop state, a driving state, and a shock occurrence state and a TBI determination part for determining whether a sequential change in the magnitude of the external impact and the duration time of the external impact matches a preset TBI generation state.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017외상성 뇌손상 검출 장치 및 이를 이용하는 외상성 뇌손상 검출 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 외상성 뇌손상 검출 장치는 사용자 신체에 착용 가능한 외상성 뇌손상 (Traumatic Brain Injury, TBI) 검출 장치로서, 상기 사용자에게 가해지는 외부 충격의 크기를 센싱하는 충격 센싱부, 상기 외부 충격의 크기 및 상기 외부 충격의 지속 시간을 분석하여, 상기 사용자의 상태를 정지 상태, 주행 상태 및 충격 발생 상태로 구분하는 상태 분석부 및 상기 외부 충격의 크기 및 상기 외부 충격의 지속 시간의 순차적인 변화가 미리 설정된 TBI 발생 조건에 부합하는지 여부를 판단하는 TBI 판단부를 포함한다.
