PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved humidification chamber for a respiratory assistance apparatus that provides a stream of humidified gases to a user for therapeutic purposes.SOLUTION: A humidification chamber 400 is operable or moveable between a closed position, in which a lid 456 is secured to a water tub 452 to create an enclosed chamber, and an open position, in which the lid 456 is displaced or rotated about a hinge away from the water tub to open the chamber for access.
