PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viable bacteria agent for animals and a feed composition for animals exerting sufficient diarrheal- and loose stool-preventive effect and body weight-increasing effect each for animals even though the agent is a single microorganism, safe in feeding to animals and contributing productivity of livestock.

SOLUTION: The viable bacteria agent for animals is obtained by preparing Lactobacillus plantarum HOKKAIDO strains in high concentration so as to be easily mixed with feed. The viable bacteria agent is directly mixed with the feed, and used for fermented feed as a starter so as to prevent animals from causing diarrheal and loose stool, and achieve improvement in the body weight increasing amount of the animals.
