An item of lower body clothing 1 (for example a nappy or diaper, a bodysuit or a baby grow) comprises (i) a main housing adapted to fit around a user and to define a torso opening and two leg openings when the item of clothing is in use and (ii) a belt 6 extending from the first portion, the belt being configured to encircle the torso of the user. The main housing comprises first and second portions 2/3 joined by an intermediate crotch portion 4. At least one protrusion 9a/9b/9c is positioned on an outer surface of the second portion and in use the protrusion is configured to rest upon the belt so as to retain the second portion in position. The protrusion/s may take the form of a rib/s formed by a length of cord attached to the second portion.
